Maison Close announces a major new milestone in its history with the acquisition of the iconic French house Scandale, founded in 1932. A pioneering brand, it has left its mark on the world of lingerie through its audacity and free spirit.

Renowned for helping revolutionize female silhouettes, Scandale established itself from the very beginning as a benchmark for the modern girdle. By breaking away from the rigid codes of its time, the house supported evolving lifestyles by offering lingerie that was lighter, more comfortable, and resolutely focused on freedom of movement and bodily expression.

Acquired in 2006 by the Hoplun Group, Scandale is now entering a new dimension by joining the creative world of Maison Close. This union gives rise to a dialogue between heritage and modernity, where Scandale’s historical DNA is reinterpreted through the contemporary and sensual lens of Maison Close.

To celebrate this rebirth, the house unveils Rococo, a tribute collection inspired by Scandale’s corsetry heritage. This first chapter revisits classic lingerie codes with a modern, graphic, and bold approach, faithful to the Maison Close aesthetic. An initial launch scheduled for late January 2026 will kick off a year dedicated to creation and experimentation.

“Scandale has always been part of my inspirational universe, as much for its creations as for its iconic campaigns illustrated notably by Gruau,” says Nicolas Busnel, founder and designer of Maison Close. He also speaks of a rare opportunity and a true honor to be able to continue the story of this house with its unique heritage.
In this spirit of continuity and highlighting French lingerie, all Maison Close collections are now available at the Madame Sensuelle boutique at 99 rue de Rennes 75006, offering customers a complete selection of the brand’s iconic pieces.
Thus, Scandale is now fully integrated into the Maison Close universe, sharing the same vision: that of free, assertive, and resolutely contemporary lingerie.
